Keep it simple!
Welcome to Taste of Home’s Simple & Delicious! Whether you’re a new reader or one of our many old friends from Quick Cooking, you’re going to find a lot to love about this magazine.
Whether you spend your day at work or at home…whether your kids are small or have flown the nest…whether you love to cook or find it a chore…it doesn’t matter. You likely have many things to accomplish in a day yet not enough time to get them all done.
That’s where Simple & Delicious comes in. This magazine helps busy people—no matter what stage of life—take the hassle out of planning menus and preparing meals. In each issue, you’ll find dozens of ways to simplify dinner prep at your house. Here are just a few:
- ~ Have a plan. Know what you’re fixing each night, and you’re halfway there! The menu plan in our “Shop Once…Eat All Week!” feature will help you put meals on the table Monday through Friday, plus using the handy grocery list will eliminate last-minute shopping trips.
- ~ Watch the clock. Each of the five meals in our regular “30-Minute Menus” feature can be ready in half an hour. Our home economists timed them to be sure. But they worked fast, dovetailed recipe steps and didn’t spend a second answering the phone. To keep your focus, try setting your kitchen timer for 30 minutes—it may help you stay on track.
- ~ Cook smart. There are several cooking strategies that can help ease meal prep. Plan ahead so dinner simmers all day in your slow cooker…turn on the stove and turn out a one-pot skillet supper…create a brand-new meal out of leftovers…or assemble two entrees at once, cook one and freeze the second for another busy night.
Future issues of Simple & Delicious will include even more time-easing mealtime solutions. Let us know how they trim minutes from your busy schedule…and be sure to share your favorite quick recipes and smart shortcuts, too.
